This big old 1986 Yamaha XJ700 Maxim has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike appears to be relatively complete. We did note however that; the LH rear indicator is held on by tape, the throttle is stuck and the tank is rotten underneath.
The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy and working brakes.
The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome.
Instruments look ok and switches move freely.
The paintwork is quite bright with just a few marks.
The seat cover has a small tear butthe base feels solid.
Both mud guards are straight and solid.
The standard exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
